Guitar, electronics, bass clarinet, saxophones. A mostly blank piece of paper. Just starting point. 22 OUMUAMUA, in search for empty space to give birth to intuitive compositions with an emphasis on atmosphere. Juggling between jazz, electro-acoustic and ambient.
Wind instrument player Jack de Jong mixing different styles out of thin air while producer and guitarist Rene Ahoud takes care of shape shifting all ingredients into a coherent sound image.
Not necessarily knowing where to go but the wish to invoke specific sound images. Music in-between soundscape and soul-soothing ritual.
Their first encounter being a “literary cinema project” the two started jamming on a regular basis. It took exactly 22 months since the discovery of 'Oumuamua before everything fell in to place and resulted in their first self titled album.
The second 22 OUMUAMUA release is the far more ambient “Romanticism”. Four urban ambient tracks separated by vife illusionary romantic interludes. 22 OUMUAMUA are currently working on the Black Hole Symphonies.
22 OUMUAMUA has landed and lives in Amsterdam.
