René Ahoud, composer of storytelling music for film and media.

After years of social work and extensive traveling, he studied Sonology at the Conservatory in The Hague and sound engineering at the School of Audio Engineering.  He worked in live sound, audio post-production, radio and TV, served as a course leader, composed music for choreography and a Universal music library, and performed live at the Lowlands festival, theaters and venues.

All of this led to the birth of Johnny Raw Studio in 2006.  Since the COVID years, he has been working on various films, features, and documentaries, 3D music in public spaces, and composing tracks for music library Sound Imagery and Tonedust.

MISSION

Support the creation of impactful and transformative stories. I envision a future where film music doesn’t merely accompany scenes but pushes boundaries, challenges listeners.

APPROACH

“We communicate through images, sounds, and words, perpetually seeking original expression. Our curiosity is most piqued by the unseen, the unheard - the uncharted territories of experience.

The core of my work lies in the synergy between image and sound. I have always been very much fascinated by the experiment that both music and sound seemed to invite me to, especially in relation to image or other storytelling content. Music that pushes boundaries and challenges listeners.
